The Red Devils — A New Generation Chases History

Belgium finished third at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, their best ever result. Now a new generation — led by Lois Openda, Amadou Onana and Yannick Carrasco — takes the mantle from the “golden generation” of Hazard, De Bruyne and Lukaku. Manager Domenico Tedesco has forged a dynamic, pressing side ready to go deeper in 2026.

GROUP G INFO

About Group G

Belgium are seeded first in Group G, drawn into a West Coast cluster with all three matches on the Pacific seaboard. They open against Egypt — returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1990 and backed by the formidable Mohamed Salah — at Lumen Field in Seattle. Their second game moves south to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, facing an Iran side that qualified through the AFC and are no strangers to upsets. The group concludes in Vancouver, Canada against New Zealand, the OFC representative. All Group G matches are played at three West Coast venues: Lumen Field (Seattle), SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles) and BC Place (Vancouver). As Group G winners, Belgium would face the runner-up of Group A or the best third-placed team in the Round of 32, keeping them on a potential collision course with the Netherlands from the quarterfinals onward.
