3× World Cup Finalists — Still Hunting That First Star

Oranje have reached the World Cup final three times — 1974, 1978 and 2010 — and lost each one. Manager Ronald Koeman leads a squad built around Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay and a golden midfield generation, determined to finally bring that elusive first World Cup title back to Amsterdam.

GROUP F INFO

About Group F

Netherlands are seeded first in Group F, one of Europe’s most pedigreed sides and perennial deep-tournament runners. Their toughest test comes from Japan — a disciplined, high-pressing side who shocked Germany and Spain at the 2022 World Cup. The two nations have met 20 times previously, including a scoreless draw at the 1974 World Cup group stage. Sweden bring a physical, organized threat built around Viktor Gyökeres, while Tunisia are Africa’s representatives making a strong case for an upset. Netherlands play their opening match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — the same ground hosting Argentina’s opener — before travelling to NRG Stadium in Houston and finishing at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. As Group F winners, Netherlands would advance to face the runner-up of Group C in the Round of 32.
