First World Cup Since 1998 — Toughest Draw in the Tournament

Scotland qualified dramatically, ending a 28-year World Cup absence with two stoppage-time stunners against Denmark. They were then handed the hardest possible draw: Brazil, Morocco (2022 semi-finalists) and Haiti. Manager Steve Clarke leads a squad built around Scott McTominay, Andrew Robertson and John McGinn — and the Tartan Army will travel in force to believe.

GROUP C INFO

About Group C

Scotland were drawn into arguably the hardest group in the tournament, seeded fourth alongside Brazil (5× World Cup winners), Morocco (2022 semi-finalists and Africa’s finest), and Haiti, making their first World Cup since 1974. Scotland open and play their second match entirely at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough (Boston) — a venue they know well from the group stage — before travelling south for the finale against Brazil at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Crucially, Scotland qualified for this World Cup by topping their UEFA qualifying group ahead of Denmark, ending a 28-year absence from the finals. A win against Haiti in the opener would be essential to give Scotland any chance of progressing; a point against Morocco and any result against Brazil might just be enough to advance as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
