Host Nation — First Win at a World Cup on Home Soil

Canada co-hosts the 2026 World Cup alongside the USA and Mexico — their first home tournament. Having never won a match in two previous World Cup appearances (1986, 2022), Jesse Marsch’s side led by Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David aim to make history in front of their own fans.

GROUP B INFO

About Group B

Canada are seeded first in Group B as a co-host nation, qualifying automatically alongside the USA and Mexico. All three of their group-stage matches are played on home soil — opening at BMO Field in Toronto before moving to BC Place in Vancouver for the final two games. Their opponents are Switzerland (consistent European qualifiers and Round of 16 regulars), Bosnia and Herzegovina (making their second-ever World Cup appearance), and Qatar (2022 hosts, making their second consecutive tournament). Canada have never won a World Cup match in history, making every point in Group B historic. Led by Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Juventus striker Jonathan David, this squad is the most talented Canada has ever produced, and home support at both venues will be electric.
