4× World Champions — Hunting a Record-Equalling Fifth Star

Germany are one of only three nations to have won the World Cup four times (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014). Manager Julian Nagelsmann leads a rebuilt Die Mannschaft into 2026, headlined by Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, and Kai Havertz — a young side looking to reclaim the throne after a painful 2022 group-stage exit.

GROUP E INFO

About Group E

Germany are seeded first in Group E, drawn alongside three opponents they should be heavy favourites to beat on paper. Ivory Coast are the group’s most dangerous dark horse, with a talented squad built around players from Europe’s top leagues. Ecuador bring physical discipline and CONMEBOL tournament experience, while Curaçao make their World Cup debut — the first CONCACAF nation from the Caribbean’s Dutch islands to reach the finals. Germany open and close their group stage in the USA — starting at NRG Stadium in Houston before a glamour final fixture at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the same venue hosting the World Cup final on July 19. As Group E winners, Germany would face a third-placed team from a neighbouring group in the Round of 32.
